Location
Senglea, known locally as L-Isla, is the smallest of Malta’s Three Cities and one of the most densely populated localities on the island. Fortified in the 1550s under Grand Master Claude de la Sengle, the city earned the title Città Invicta, “The Unconquered City,” for its defiant role in the Great Siege of 1565. Today, its narrow, walkable streets lead to the Gardjola Gardens, a historic watchtower at the tip of the peninsula, and the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, making Senglea a genuinely compact home with real harbour character.
