Moving to Malta

There are various reasons why one would find Malta or Gozo as ideal destinations to relocate to, for business, invest in property or even retire and our lovely climate is only one attractive part. Read the reasons why you should consider moving to Malta

Property Investment

The real estate industry being one, is more stable than one thinks still showing steady growth across the board with high end properties seeing a much higher growth rate.  Depending on your main objective of your purchase, our agents can consult you on the best areas to buy whether you’re looking for a second home/investment or buying to let the property.

Having a network of over 7000 offices and 100, 000 real estate associates around the world, quite naturally we have a strong ex-pat client base which we service on a regular basis which provides us an in-depth experience along with foreign purchasers. Buying in Malta is quite simple however there are procedures which you have to follow when planning a purchase that we are very happy to guide you when the time comes.

Business in Malta

business malta

Malta is very active at the moment in marketing the country’s strategic positioning and is attracting various industries to Malta.  Internet gambling companies, software companies, offshore banks and investment companies are setting up like wildfire at the moment due to very attractive tax rates and benefits that our government is offering to these industries.  A website that should be interesting to look to get a more broad perspective of tax benefits would be Malta Enterprise website which is www.maltaenterprise.com.

There are apparently 90 Gambling companies already set up in Malta and over 50 more applications.  Microsoft Corporation and other large software development companies are set up in Malta as well and this is just a beginning with the new SmartCity@Malta shortly becoming a reality which will attract over 3000 jobs to the IT sector.  SmartCity@Malta is going to be an IT City similar to the one in Dubai www.dubaiinternetcity.com and it will target large blue chip, medium and small players in the IT Sector to the south of our Island where SmartCity is being developed at present.

In Malta we have all of the famous 4 Auditing firms; Deloitte, Price Waterhouse Coopers, KPMG and Ernst & Young and various knowledgeable law firms that are always ready to send you a bill…of course for some good advice that will save you lots of time and money.

So basically, the infrastructure is set up to receive companies with open arms and plenty of companies are taking advantage of these benefits.

Weather in Malta

moving to malta

Malta‘s weather and climate are strongly influenced by the sea and have a very characteristic Mediterranean flavour, similar to that found in southern Italy or southern Greece.

The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers, warm and sporadically wet autumns, and short, cool winters with adequate rainfall. Nearly three-fourths of the total annual rainfall of about 600 millimeters (24 inches) falls between October and March; June, July, and August are normally quite dry.

The temperature is very stable, the annual mean being 18ºC (64ºF) and the monthly averages ranging from 12º C (54ºF) to 31ºC (88ºF). Winds are strong and frequent; the most common are the cool northwesterly (majjistral), the dry northeasterly (grigal, or gregale), and the hot humid southeasterly (xlokk, or sirocco). The relative humidity is consistently high and rarely falls below 40%.

Hotel Resorts Malta

Over the years Malta has seen practically all the main 5-star Hotel chains set up shop.  The Intercontinental, the Hilton Malta, Le Meridien, Westin and the Radisson all provide the normal hotel rooms, conference facilities and fine dining at very reasonable prices.  All these hotels are located in the St. Julian’s areas and are very easily accessible and perfect for holiday rentals when staying in Malta.
