Why book a holiday to Malta?

Here is why Malta should be your next ideal destination for your next vacation. Book a holiday in Malta and you won’t regret visiting Malta.

Three reasons you should book a holiday to Malta right now

Small though it is, the Mediterranean island of Malta is likely to be more cultural and cosmopolitan than you could ever imagine. In a single day, you could swim at sandy or rocky beaches, admire scenic countryside views, delve into Malta’s turbulent past, and dine at Michelin-starred restaurants before heading back to your five-star resort. The best news? All are within quick and easy reach! Read on to learn more about why Malta is such a special holiday destination.

An island of all seasons

Sunny almost all year round, Malta still enjoys variation between the seasons. Hot and beach-perfect summers, gloriously bright and colourful springs, mild and comfortable winters, and warm easy autumns. Malta is truly blessed with weather that makes it an attractive destination no matter when you visit – on- or off-peak season.

There is also a full calendar of social events, whether travelling alone, with family, or among friends. From celebrations like the Strawberry Festival in spring and the Notte Bianca cultural all-nighter in autumn, to the weekly village feasts in summer and to Easter Week (with its grand processions and public displays of traditional art) – you’ll never be bored in Malta.

Multi-faceted Malta

Malta is the ideal destination for all sorts of visitors, from all walks of life.

Are you craving a slower pace? You’ll love Malta’s seaside connections, its luxury spas, its traditional cuisine, and its idyllic spots of natural beauty.

You can sample these traits across the island, in towns and villages like the fishing hub of Marsaxlokk, Mgarr with its stunning country and seaside views up north, Siggiewi and Zejtun further south, and, of course, Lija, Attard and Balzan – fondly known as the Three Villages. And these are just a handful among plenty of other contenders!

If, alternatively, you a fun-loving city spirit who thrives in a buzzing urban environment, Malta has loads for you too. Just picture modern, high-rise structures, 5-star hotel facilities, shopping malls with highstreet and designer brands, and trendy clubs and pubs where you can party till dawn. All this is waiting to be explored in the popular entertainment districts of St Julian’s, Paceville, Sliema, Bugibba, and their surrounding neighbourhoods. There are also award-winning international cuisine – whether casual or fine-dining – all of which are testimony to Malta’s strong cosmopolitan side.

Strong essences, small bottles

What it lacks in size, Malta makes up for in culture and history. For such a compact space, Malta packs three UNESCO World Heritage Sites into its tiny island setting. Even older than the Pyramids, Malta boasts the incomparable Megalithic Temples and the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, as well as the capital city of Valletta, which dates back to the Order of the Knights of St John. Its collection of Baroque wonders includes St John’s Co-Cathedral, the Grandmaster’s Palace, the Manoel Theatre, and the National Library.

And let’s not forget the Three Cities, which sit opposite Valletta’s Barrakka Gardens across from the Grand Harbour. Alternatively, if you love fortified cities and want the most Insta-worthy winding streets imaginable, head even further back in time with a trip to medieval Mdina or the Cittadella in Gozo.

Churches are a big part of life in Malta. They’re worth a visit and, with one church for every day of the year, it certainly won’t be hard to find one. Works of art in themselves, Maltese churches are likely to be some of the most beautiful you’ve ever seen. But don’t take our word for it – explore them for yourself!

Finally, complete your bucket list with something a little different. This could be a trip to a lesser-known spot off the beaten track, or a visit to one of the pocket-sized beaches that only locals know about. That said, the famously hospitable Maltese will be only too happy to share some of their favourite hideaways!
